Content Review Process
A transparent look at how every DermaGenome article is created, reviewed, fact-checked, and maintained.
Stage 1: Research & Outline
Every article begins with a research stage led by our medical advisor team. We identify the primary clinical question, review relevant peer-reviewed literature, and establish the key claims and recommendations the article will make. An outline is created before any content is written.
Stage 2: Drafting
Content is drafted based on the approved outline, referencing clinical sources for all factual claims. AI-assisted tools may support research, structure, or language — but all factual assertions are verified against primary sources before proceeding to review.
Stage 3: Specialist Review
Every article is reviewed by Sofia (AI Skin Intelligence Specialist) before publication. The review process assesses: clinical accuracy, ingredient safety, appropriateness for diverse skin tones, consistency with current evidence, and clarity for a non-specialist audience.
Stage 4: Medical Advisor Sign-Off
Articles covering medical skin conditions, prescription ingredients, or sensitive health topics receive a secondary review from Dr. Alexander M. Orlando. This includes assessment of safety claims, medical contraindications, and alignment with professional dermatology guidance.
Stage 5: Publication & Attribution
Published articles display the author name, specialist reviewer, and last-reviewed date. This attribution is integral to our commitment to transparency and helps readers evaluate the source of the information they are reading.
Ongoing Updates
Published articles are flagged for re-review when: significant new research is published, ingredient safety assessments change from regulatory bodies, or at scheduled 12-month review intervals for evergreen content. Update timestamps are visible on every article.
